I love cars. Its an Ohio thing. With Summit Racing, Mid Ohio and more being so close by, tricked out cars are a part of Ohio’s cultural fabric.
Since August of 2008 Forced4s has been a growing force in the Northeastern Ohio car scene. Forced4s is all about one thing: forced induction four cylinder cars. These cars make big power from smaller 4 cylinder engines with the help of turbochargers and superchargers. Some examples of cars that land in this category from the factory are the Subaru WRX, Dodge Neon SRT-4, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Volkswagen GTI. However, there are some others doing unorthadox installs on regular old cars to make them fit the bill. (I’m one of the latter. I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris with a small turbocharger.)
2009 saw some huge shows and great times, but 2010 promises to be even bigger. The biggest news out of the Forced4s camp is that we have moved the location of our weekly meet to The Boneyard in Mayfield. If you haven’t been there, it is phenomenal! Its like Dave and Busters with a decidedly Cleveland (re: Browns) flair. The back patio bar area has giant swing-open doors that will allow us to connect the patio area with the parking lot every Wednesday night. It promises to be a great atmosphere for a car show.
Our fun doesn’t stop at Wednesday nights. On the occasional Tuesday we venture to Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio for all-you-can-eat drag racing. Sunday nights are the “Superfly Sunday” meets at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron. A few of us are even going to make the trek to Import Alliance in Nashville, Tennessee this year. Other shows will take place in the Cleveland Metroparks, Best Buy Macedonia and more. In short, you could probably spend half your evenings in the summer hanging out with this awesome group of car enthusiasts. All people and all cars are welcome at the meets and events. Card carrying members enjoy discounts from a list of sponsors that include North Shore Tint, Martini Skate and Snow, ACV Mailorder and more.
One more reason to be #HappyinCLE.
